Here are a couple of  images taken during the early stages of pre-production on Star Wars: A New Hope. These suits were inspired by the concept artwork done by artist Ralph McQuarrie on C-3PO and Darth Vader. As we all know they were later altered, but it is interesting to see how they could have ended up in the end.
