We brought you news on a possible role for Benedict Cumberbatch and now we have details on what his “rumored” role may be. Aparently Cumberbatch will be playing a Sith with a “Major role” that will continue throughout all 3 upcoming films! Now again before we all get excited (or upset) let us again remember this is still considered a rumor at this point.

Sources are now saying that the studio is denying the rumors of Cumberbatch, however, Devin Faraci of Bad Ass Digest has this to add:

“I’ve heard the role he’s up for is that of a bad guy, almost certainly a Sith. And it’s a major role, one that will continue throughout the whole new trilogy. This part is why he dropped out of Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak.”

David Faraci continues by saying that the reason this news has not hit any of the usual sources is because he says:

“official denials coming down from multiple channels”

Now we are taking this quote as a grain of salt at this point because we all know how secretive Abrams can be! So who knows, only time will tell!
