The rumor of Benedict Cumberbatch playing in Star Wars: Episode VII has spread like wild fire on the internet over the past couple of weeks with sources saying he is in the movie and is NOT in the movie. Well, finally we have recent word from the Star Trek actor himself at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival, speaking to Access Hollywood. Here it is folks:

“This is the simple truth. J.J. [Abrams] and I have worked together before. I would love to work with him again. No offer has been made. That is that. And that is that.”

So there you have it! Pure, Plain, and simple! Bendict Cumberbatch will have no part in Star Wars: Episode VII. This comes as bitter-sweet news since the actor is so great; however, he DID already play a villain in Star Trek.
