J.J. Abrams recently spoke with MTV News on how the new Star Wars: Episode VII release date works better for him and his team.

“I will say that it’s infinitely a better situation now than when [Disney] were saying they wanted it in summer,” said Abrams about the December 18th, 2015 Star Wars Ep 7 release date….
[Disney] was talking about 2015, and they made this announcement very early on. Which I understand why they would want that, but it didn’t necessarily have anything to do with the reality of where was creatively. So I think that it’s a hugely important thing that that come first. And a release date, great, but you have to release something great. So, to me the new release date is a huge improvement.”
Now speaking of the return of our Beloved Classic duo, R2-D2 and C-3PO Abrams said something fun and different about each character.
Of R2-D2:
“How do you do Star Wars without R2-D2?”
Of C-3PO:
“They have different agents.”
We all know that Star Wars: Episode VII has been confirmed to be released on December 18th, 2015 and that R2-D2 has been confirmed to for the film, but as of right now C-3PO has not been officially added; Although, there has been many hints that he will return.
