So the idea of a spin off film has been driving fans crazy, especially the idea of a Boba Fett movie. So now it is being said that the characters that will appear in their own spin off film will not appear in the other movies. Club Jade has a quote of Kathleen Kennedy speaking at the new Lucasfilm Animation Museum at Sandcrawler.
“George was so clear as to how that works. The canon that he created was the Star Wars saga. Right now, [Episode VII] falls within that canon. The spin-off movies, or we may come up with some other way to call those films, they exist within that vast universe that he created,” she says.
“There is no attempt being made to carry characters (from the standalone films) in and out of the saga episodes. Consequently, from the creative standpoint, it’s a roadmap that George made pretty clear,” she adds.
So seeing Boba return to the big screen with the original cast is very unlikely, but at least we’re getting to see him in his own movie. So does this mean the canon is already beginning to change? Does it mean Boba Fett never survived Return of the Jedi or just has no point returning to chase after Luke and the gang? Other rumors that are circulating around the holonet suggests that Boba Fett is going to have a new origin story, a way for apologizing for the prequels, but this idea is stupid. The rumor comes from Latino Review, but the idea confuses many things, including the story that was created in Episode II and the continuing of Boba Fett in The Clone Wars. Again, it’s just a rumor and has not been stated by any official source.
