Star Wars Celebration has passed and with it, the announcement of the next Battlefront. EA has been listening to the fans and they have made some new changes that will hopefully draw back those lost interest in the first one. A few of the key things that fans complained about was the lack of a story campaign and that they had to pay for a season pass. Battlefront II promises to bring a storyline that will follow the eyes of a soldier of the Empire named Iden Versio seeking revenge after the destruction of the second Death Star. This will be considered canon and from time to time you will be playing as some established heroes like Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren. So what have we learned about Battlefront II from this year’s celebration?
The multiplayer will be similar to what we know from the first game, but there will be some key differences that will enhance the experience. We will be able to play as heroes and classes from the different eras of Star Wars, however, the maps will be locked to those eras. The season pass will be gone so there will be no division between players. They are also introducing a class system which you can upgrade and customize as you play. They are also changing the experience with playing hero characters. The more you play as a certain hero the more they level up, meaning you get a different experience from different players which will help level out the playing field.
If you remember in the first game, there were items that allowed you to take command of vehicles. They will work exactly the same as classes and heroes that add a bit of customization and leveling.
Other than that we don’t have too many details but so far, it’s enough to have us excited. The game is ready for pre-order and we recommend getting the Elite Trooper Edition, which offers
- Access to play Battlefront II on November 14, three days early
- Upgraded versions of all four trooper classes (Officer, Assault, Heavy, and Specialist)
- Four epic ability upgrades–one for each trooper class
- Instant weapon unlocks and weapon modifications for each trooper class
- Exclusive Kylo Ren- and Rey-themed looks, inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Epic ability modifiers for Kylo Ren and Rey
- An epic ability modifier for the Millennium Falcon
