R2-D2 Confirmed For Episode VII

Just a few days ago we posted a twitter pic of JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy at their workshop with R2-D2. We thought that it was odd to see the droid with them and just assumed that he would make an appearance in the new movie. Bad Robot Twitter Teases Episode VII

As Episode VII production progresses and the hype of fans increase more will come, but today, Bad Robot sends their first tease for fans and possibly first cast member? It’s just a pic of JJ Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and the famous astromech droid R2-D2 with the quote “hi from the workshop.” It’s a pretty awesome picture and something to appease fans as we wait for them to piece everything together. UPDATE: Star Wars: Episode VII Production Heading to New Mexico?

UPDATE: So this rumor has been squashed. An official in New Mexico was petitioning for Star Wars to film in their state. So Latino Review took this bit of news and ran with it. ¬†Lucasfilm is denying that they were planning to film there and have stated that they are continuing to produce the film in London.
